How to get through airport security

Planning to fly to your Thanksgiving destination?  I’m always amazed at how quickly security lines can get bogged down during holiday travel.

By following these rules that regular travelers already know, you will save yourself a lot of time and aggravation.  And possibly make the travel day a little less stressful for everyone else, too.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The bad news is that this won’t help you too much overseas. In foreign aiports, the rules are much different, and too are the standards by which airport security does their job. The process is much different in Germany than it is in New Zealand. For one thing, they speak English in New Zealand.

The good news is, there is almost always someone in the security crew who speaks English, since that is the most common language spoken by international travelers. So, if you are asked to do something in another language, it is best to respond, (in English), "I’m sorry, I don’t understand you." Airport security is not the time to practice your language skills.
