Did I mention I wrote the book on confidence? Increase yours now. ~ Betsy

Packing for Life

Trent over at The Simple Dollar has a great post on The Suitcase Test. He compares his packing habits now with his packing habits from college. For those of you who don’t know, Trent has gone from financial meltdown to financial success, and he outlines his simple strategies for saving money and simplifying life on his excellent blog.

Trent’s Suitcase Test is very simple: If you had to fit all of your belongings in a suitcase and walk away, what would you pack?

Besides a few changes of clothes, a laptop, cell phone, and toiletries, you would some basic supplies such as cooking utensils and pots and pans. But really, what else do you need?

Trent challenges his readers to use the Suitcase Test when faced with any new purchase or when organizing your home. If I even think about what’s on my desk right now I can name 6 things that I haven’t used in months but they are still here. Why am I cluttering up my space?

The Suitcase Test is a good idea for everyday life, so that when your day to pack arrives you really can focus on the journey ahead with no extra baggage.
