How do you feel about your kitchen now? We’ve made some good progress this week with only a minimal amount of time spent decluttering.
It doesn’t take long to make an impact.
- We’ve decluttered our tables and countertops so we can enjoy a bigger workspace and time with our families.
- Then we evaluated our stock of dishes and utensils and made a plan to downsize to only what we really use.
- The pantry was next, and we threw out all expired food and sorted based on need, not size.
- Last, we organized the refrigerator and freezer to prevent food spoilage.
Each of these tasks should take less than an hour to complete. Remember, we are not cleaning and organizing so much as decluttering and setting up systems to prevent the clutter from coming back.
Weekend Challenge
This weekend, I want you to take some time to enjoy your new space.
- Buy some good food for your body and store it in your newly designed pantry and refrigerator.
- Have dinner at the dining room table and enjoy preparing it on your clutter-free counters.
- Donate your excess dishes to someone less fortunate so they can enjoy a meal like you do.
On Monday we’ll start tackling the home office and make it the efficient space you need to work, pay bills, and manage your household. We’ll also cover some computer decluttering.

I read all of your decluttering articles with a smile on my face – you have turned into your mother!
You gave me a great education on the subject – even if it didn’t appear I was listening as a teenager!
