Dream Save Do now on Kindle (plus the Kiva donation and other fun stuff)

Yes, you read that right:

Dream Save Do is now available on Amazon Kindle!

You can now buy the Dream Save Do guide for your Kindle or read it via the Kindle App on your mobile device or computer. We received a ton of requests to do this, and I’m thankful to Warren for putting in all the extra work to make it happen. Just in time for gift-giving and new year’s resolutions.

If you are still interested in the original version with the bonus chapter on selling your junk, the two video classes on debt reduction, and the 3-month email followup plan, we still have that available. Now you can pick the package that works best for your needs.

As of this writing, it is #12 in the Kindle store for eBooks on money management. We’re excited to see it reach a much broader audience because we are a little bit obsessed about the Live the Good Life Movement and helping people move closer to their dreams. Call us weird, call us crazy - we don’t mind! If you’ve read it and want to leave a review on Amazon, please do.

How did we do?

Speaking of the Live the Good Life Movement, one thing we promised when we first launched the ebook on our site was that we would donate a percentage of the profits (sales minus expenses) to Kiva.org to fund someone else’s dream. Well, we are excited to tell you that we have $250 to donate to Kiva, and we’ve chosen to fund recipients in the Philippines. We did this because of the great experience and friendships we made on the M/S Expedition this spring as we traveled with the mostly Filipino crew from South America to England. They are such a fun-loving and hard-working group of people, and we admire their sense of loyalty to their extended families and communities. We are honored to call many of them friends, and we love being able to help their country this way.

What’s next?

You didn’t think we’d stop there, did you? Our next project is all about FEAR. It is not the same old rehash of “overcoming” your fear that you usually see, but rather learning how to use those “fear blinders” that you get when you’re scared out of your wits and using that focus to create a better plan. We’re interviewing some really great people who have faced significant challenges in unusual ways, and you will learn a lot from them. You can sign up now at the book’s website to get updates on our interviews, research, and bits of writing as we go along, and you can expect to see the book in the spring.

It is a little bit scary telling you all of this and giving ourselves a public deadline, but that’s the funny part. I mean, how scared are we allowed to be when we’re writing a book on fear?

What are we doing for fun?

When we decided to come to Thailand (wait, when YOU decided to send us here), we knew it would be for some serious work for six months as we worked on our website business and finished our latest book. But we are managing to fit in some fun, meet some locals and other travelers, and generally enjoy life.

Our latest adventure was meeting a chef from Mexico who has become an apprentice of our favorite Thai chef here, and it all came about through a friend we have in Portland. I tell you, the more we travel, the more we find that the world is a very small place. We are looking forward to some Thai/Mex fusion dishes over the next month, along with bathing elephants, trekking through the mountains, motorbiking the countryside, taking a Thai cooking class, and volunteering at a local orphanage. We’re even meeting up with a couple of readers who are traveling through Chiang Mai over the next couple of weeks.

That’s what is going on with us as we finish out a fantastic 2011. We’ll be talking more in the coming weeks about how we do our New Year’s planning (and you are going to be shocked at the difference between our 2010 video and 2012 - wow!). We hope you’ll stick around and share some of your highlights from 2011 and plans for 2012 as we put out those posts over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks again for being part of our tribe. We love sharing this journey with you.

  1. Awesome Betsy! Love the Kiva investment. I’m starting a project using my Brazilian music to fund social entrepreneurship through Kiva as well. Seeing more and more folks doing just that. Enjoy Chiang Mai this winter, and best to you in 2012!

    • Kap kun kaa, Tom! It makes every project that much more important when we can help other people with our profits. Keep us posted on your Brazilian music project - it sounds interesting.

  2. Yay! Love the photo of you guys at We’s.
