Valentine’s Day.
Normally we reserve this day for ranting and raving about the craziness of judging the health of your relationship or your worthiness as a human by the activities and gifts of one day. In fact, we get a little shrill.
But this year we have a new attitude. We are big fans of love, after all. So we are going to focus on loving and motivating yourself every day of the year instead of railing against one overly-hyped commercial holiday.
After all, if you don’t love yourself you won’t have a very convincing argument for anyone else to love you.
Read on for some of our most popular posts this past year on loving and caring for yourself:
How being happy can make you healthy
When do you start living your life? NOW
Showing enthusiasm for your goals (more cowbell!)
Copping an attitude of awesome-ness
Being comfortable in your own skin (or, the one where Warren gets naked)

Nothing like a Hallmark Holiday to tell those around us that we love them!
I agree, there is a positive spin to be put on most anything, even Valentines Day.
Happy Valentine’s Day
Another positive spin…just think of all the leftover Valentine’s chocolates that will be on sale later this week!
I know how you feel about Valentine’s Day but I just want you to know how much your Mamacita loves you and Warren! I hope you have a day filled with much love and perhaps a few discoveries along the way!
Hola, Mamacita! I may dislike the commercialism of this holiday, but I am a big fan of love, as you know.
Miss you! (and hey, you should go to Gravatar.com and upload a picture, too - then when you comment your picture will show up).
Awww, we love you and miss you! Wish you two weren’t so far away…cheers to my favorite anti-Hallmark Holiday couple!
Cheers to you both, and I hope Katy has made a fabulous cake for the holiday. (and hey, why don’t you go to Gravatar and upload your picture so I can see your pretty face when you comment?)
okay, just did it!
heh heh heh.
I’ve given my clients the following assignment: Tell 3 people that you love them and don’t expect a response. just do it for fun and for free.
I love you Betsy.
I love you Warren.
You may not expect a response, but we want you to know that we love you, too. And what a great assignment for teenagers! You rock, Dr. Crane.
It’s for parents also. Never good to withhold love, as you know! muah!
Have a LOVE-ly day!
Hope you had a LOVE-ly day, too, nrhatch!
I know Valentine’s Day is crap, but I’m always happy for an excuse to celebrate love. Thanks for the links. I look forward to checking them out.
That’s a good attitude, Kim. I’m trying to mellow out over this, and it makes it easier to be in a place where there’s not that much fuss over the day. In fact, every day seems to be Valentine’s Day if you go to the Parque del Amor in Lima - lots of couples kissing (boom-chicka-wow-wow).
LOVE it! My blog post today was on loving yourself too and how the monkeys were loving themselves in front of us at the zoo!
Monkey love! Ha, now that sounds like the perfect Valentine’s Day image.
