Great video and good tips.
I like the ‘give yourself time’ before you travel/move, it amkes sense
So…you’re really doing it! Congratulations!
Great tips: I finally bought a condo and have to sell a bunch of stuff. I can use this.
Congrats on your new place, Cathy! Seattle has a very active Craiglisting community so you should have no problem clearing out your space and making some bucks.
Wow, so timely for me. I have 30 days to sell nearly everything and move aboard our boat with my husband and two small children. Great video and tips! We did coffee and muffins for our friend shopping days. Lot’s of big stuff is spoken for but oh boy there’s a lot left. I’ll keep checking your site for inspiration.
Good luck, Victoria! We’d love to hear how things are going with you during these 30 days. We may have a few good ideas if you get stuck.
Love your blog and the idea of traveling the world is so exciting.
My husband and I are old enough to be your parents and he is retiring at 59 1/2 in July of 2011. We are marking off the days on a calendar..just like a prisoner in a cell!! LOL
I love the hoarding programs on TV, because not only do I find them fascinating, but it inspires me to declutter my home. Most people would say that my home is neat and very organized….I have worked on it for years. My tendency is to collect and thrift shop, but I have to take control over those desires and feel such freedom when my home is clutter-free.
My father passed away last week and I am helping my 81 yr. old mother clean her house. She could be on one of these hoarder show. Her front room looks fair, but the rooms that are lurking behind are scarily full…boxes, boxes, boxes…..YUK!
Not dirty, just tons of stuff that needs to be eliminated. Working on her psche is a challenge to me, but I’m slowly chiseling away at her “depression era” thoughts and standards.
Your blog will help me stay motivated, along with several other websites that I frequent.
I envy you as you travel….we love to travel too. We’ve got two states left…Alaska and Idaho and we’ll have been to all 50.
Will be coming back to your blog often.
Happy traveling!
